Bird Bones
I love ElfQuest. Lots, lots and lots. But because Finland's comic inventory kinda sucks, I've read only the main story (from Fire And Flight to Kings Of The Broken Wheel), Rogue's Challenge and some Hidden Years. T^T I remember how when I was very young - couldn't even read yet - my cousin Nina read us the second chapter of the original quest, 'Raid At Sorrow's End', and I really really liked it. :3 Years later I was in the library and bumped into a Finnish EQ chapter, immediately recognizing it, and withdrew all the EQ books they had. xD At first I read it in Finnish, but eventually ran out of them and thus started reading the English ones. I just love Wendy's artwork, especially in the original quest, and feel that EQ just isn't EQ unless it's drawn by her.
ANYWAY. The picture. It's Tyldak, who I've really started liking recently, don't ask why. I think it's partly because he's so hard to figure out - he's not clearly evil like Winnowill, but neither is he clearly good like, say, Cutter. And then there's of course the way he looks; everyone who knows me knows I have some very strange definitions of "cute" and "attractive", and always fall for the freaks. Well, here we go again. x3 I love his fuzzy eyebrow-side-whisker-thingy, and the sail on his head, not to mention how damn skinny he is. :3 And I like how even though he looks very inhuman (in-elf? ¬_¬) - even monstrous - he's still just a normal person with flaws and wants and fears and a personality of his own. And he, too, is helpless in the face of recognition. :3 It's probably just me, but I think he and Dewshine would've made the cutest couple ever. ^3^
There's something about Tyldak's face that's really hard to get right, and he just doesn't look like himself without it. I'm not sure if I still quite got it, but that's close enough for me - I will not erase his face again!
Fear my pathetic attempt at a background! :D I really wanted one in this picture as it looked just so blah without one, but now I feel it ruined the whole picture... T^T And the whole egg-motif-border seemed like a good idea at the time. TT^TT Man, I suck at this. *facedesk*
